Chlamydia Screening

Age 16 - 24 Years ?

Up to 1 in 7 young people aged 16-24 years in the local area have Chlamydia and have no symptoms.

  • Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection
  • It affects both men and women
  • It is easily treated with antibiotics
  • If untreated it can lead to problems with fertility in both men and women.

The Chlamydia Test

  • Men need to provide a sample of the first passed urine in the morning
  • Women can take a vaginal swab from themselves or book a nurse appointment for a swab to be taken.

Next step

  • If you are aged 16-24 years and would like a Chlamydia test, pick up a male or female test kit from reception or one of the nurses or doctors and follow the simple instructions inside.
  • Alternatively book an appointment to see one of the nurses for testing and sexual health advice.
  • If you are over 25years and would like a sexual health screen or advice please book to see one of the nurses or doctors or visit the Camberwell Sexual Health Centre
